Carys Williams, 38, remains in police custody on suspicion of killing David James Kingsbury
Murder detectives have been granted an extra 36 hours to question a mum-of-three currently being on suspicion of killing a man in Old Colwyn on Thursday night.
Carys Williams, 38, was arrested shortly after the body of David James Kingsbury, 35, was found near Wellington Road at roughly 9pm.
Ms Williams, who has links to Llysfaen and Penrhyn Bay, has not been charged but detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with Mr Kingsbury's death.
A post mortem examination revealed the 35-year-old died from a single stab wound.
Police now have an extra 36 hours to quiz Ms Williams, who lives in Old Colwyn.
Detectives want anyone who was in the Aldi or Co-op store on Abergele Road between 8.30pm and 9pm to come forward.
Their investigations also involve the Bryn Heulog area of the village.
Officers have re-opened Wellington Road after it was shut on Thursday night and throughout Friday for forensic teams to investigate.
Detective Inspector Arwyn Jones said: “Our inquiries are ongoing and we are specifically keen to hear from anyone who was in Aldi on Abergele Road or the Co-op store on Abergele Road in Old Colwyn, between 8.30pm and 9pm on Thursday January 5."
