Bangor,North Wales - Homeless man stabbed as he slept rough

A 26-year-old man has been charged with wounding and possession of a knife following the attack on Thursday night

A man has been charged with stabbing a homeless man as he slept rough in Bangor .
The 26-year-old, Matthew Roberts, was arrested on suspicion of wounding and possession of a knife following the attack in an archway near to the Castle pub.
The stabbing happened at around 11.40pm on Thursday, police said.
There is currently no information on the condition of the 53-year-old homeless man who was attacked.
Roberts appeared at Llandudno magistrates court this morning and was remanded to prison until another court appearance in February.
DC 3006 Jade Light of Caernarfon CID said: "I must stress that incidents of this nature are extremely rare in Bangor but when they do occur the investigations are detailed and extensive.
