Detectives launched a forensic investigation following the incident in Cardiff's Wood Street
An appeal for witnesses has been launched after a teenager was stabbed on a busy city centre street.
Police in Cardiff said the assault happened in Wood Street, near the old bus station, shortly before 6.20pm on Thursday.
A spokesman for the force said a 17-year-old boy from the Grangetown area of the city suffered a puncture wound in his side.
He was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Heath where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

After the assault officers closed off an area of the street near the old Abacus art gallery.
