Ex-army man Steven Shane Murray, 34, died on November 2 last year in the Travelodge hotel

An amateur Thai boxer took a lethal cocktail of drugs including heroin and cocaine before dying in a hotel room.
Steven Shane Murray, 34, died on November 2 in the Llandudno Travelodge, despite resuscitation attempts by his wife Jodie Murray and paramedics.
After taking a combination of drugs Mr Murray vomited which he ingested into his lungs while unconscious, causing aspiration pneumonia as the toxins from the vomit killed him.
An inquest in Llandudno heard Mr Murray, a father of three, had struggled with addiction since leaving the army having served his country for two years.
In a statement given to the inquest, Mr Murray’s widow Jodie Murray said her husband had come to the family home on Morfa Road on November 1 last year under the influence of drugs.
She refused to allow him into the house near their three children but did see that he was put into a hotel.
The following morning when Mrs Murray could not contact him she went to the Travelodge and could hear laboured breathing and asked staff to open the door.
She attempted CPR as did paramedics when they arrived but at roughly midday the 34-year-old was pronounced dead .
A post mortem examination revealed Mr Murray had heroin, cocaine, diazepam, paracetamol and morphine in his body - but not at toxic levels.
Deputy coroner Nicola Jones said: “He just slipped off (his sobriety) and on this occasion it’s killed him.
“It is not an overdose.
“In his system was a large combination of drugs, none of them at a fatal level.
“He has taken an awful lot of drugs, probably more than is showing on his post mortem.”
She added: “If the only comfort you can take away from this death is that he did not suffer, he was unconscious.”
Jodie said her husband had been a great dad and a great husband despite his struggles with addiction.
Ms Jones recorded a verdict of accidental death.
