There was a spate of weather related accidents on the A55
Police are appealing for information after the incident on the A55 near Bangor

An appeal has been launched to find the driver of the silver Mercedes who made the “extremely dangerous manoeuvre”

A police officer had a narrow escape after a driver ignored a road block on the A55 and almost hit her.
She was forced to “jump back and pin herself” against her patrol vehicle to avoid being injured.
Officers were busy helping an elderly man who had stopped after a piece of fence fell off his vehicle when the incident happened.
They had been called to the scene between junctions nine and ten, westbound at the Tesco slip road near Parc Menai in Bangor on Monday at around 2pm.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “The incident involved an elderly man who was trying to retrieve a large fencing panel that had fallen off his vehicle.
“Officers set up a rolling block from Junction 10 towards Junction 9 and put a complete block on to the A55 to deal with the incident safely.”
Signs were put in place to warn other drivers not to pass the police vehicle, which was parked across the central white lines.

'Disastrous consequences'

A queue formed in lane one - there were no vehicles in lane two.
The spokesman said: “As one officer went to deal with the incident the other officer left her vehicle to approach the drivers of the first few cars to advise them to remain where they were and to explain what was happening.
“As she was doing this a driver pulled out from the static line of cars in lane one, moved into lane two and accelerated into the gap between the officer’s vehicle and the central crash barrier.
“The officer was forced to jump back and pin herself up against the side of her vehicle to avoid being struck.”
Police say the alleged offender, who was driving a silver Mercedes, “slowed down for a moment before accelerating away westbound”.
PC Dave Thomas described the driver’s alleged actions as “an extremely dangerous manoeuvre”.
He added: “To breach a rolling road block is an offence which in this case could have had disastrous consequences.”
