Caernarfon,North Wales - Fresh appeal after Caernarfon vandals destroy war poppies

Police have released an image of a cash register found at the storage facility on Skinner Street

A cash register was left at the scene where yobs destroyed thousands of pounds worth of remembrance poppies.
Police have released a picture of the device left at a storage unit on Skinner Street inCaernarfon , where vandals damaged thousands of the poppies, used to commemorate the war dead.
They struck sometime between last week and 10.45am on Wednesday.
The cash register is believed to have been taken to the location by unknown individuals and detectives are now trying to trace its owner.
Keith Jones, 59, Poppy Appeal organiser for the Caernarfon area, who first started storing the poppies at the building in November last year, described the perpetrators as “heartless”.

After the raid he said: “The perpetrators broke in through the back door of the property which they have smashed off its hinges.
“They’ve scattered the poppies all over the place and they’re totally destroyed.
“There are so many poppies on the floor, it’s like blood."
North Wales Police previously branded the raid “despicable”.
Sergeant Rhys Gough said: “We are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in or around Skinner Street overnight to contact us."
