BURGLARS smashed through a window and broke into an Indian restaurant at 4am - to seal ice cream.
Sopna Tandoori Restaurant at Four Crosses, Menai Bridge, was raided for its food and drink stock, including large quantities of ice cream, in the early hours of Monday morning.
It was the second time the restaurant was targeted by criminals for its stock in two years.
Manager Shadeq “Sid” Ali said: “They took a lot of stock, till money, spirits and a lot of our ice cream.
“I don’t know why anyone would do that - it’s such a stupid thing to steal.
"It's and odd business to target becuase we don't keep a lot of cash in the till."
The criminals broke a pane of glass to gain access to the building, which sits by the A5025 Pentraeth Road.
About £80 was taken from the till as well as a large amount of stock, but the restaurant management brought in to emergency supplies and remained open for business.
Burglars made off with £2,000 worth of food and drink in a similar burglary in January 2014.
“It is the second time this has happened to us,” Mr Ali said.
“We bought some emergency stock and we did open straight away.
“We can’t use the main room due to the broken glass so we have to use the extension room only for the time being.
“But we had to open, I didn’t want to let this keep us from opening.”
Police are appealing for information.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “We received a report of a break in at an Indian restaurant on Pentraeth Road, Four Crosses.
“Anyone with information can call the 101 non-emergency number, quoting reference number U055550.”
