A HOMELESS alcoholic accused of spitting on a police community support officer’s protective vest was jailed for 120 days.
Bernadette Gardiner, aged 52, admitted breaching a criminal behaviour order and assaulting PCSO James Wan in Rhyl town centre.
Magistrates at Llandudno heard she also swore after being asked to hand over a bottle of cider and move on.
Nia Dawson, defending, said Gardiner had been banned temporarily from a night shelter and was very much alone and without support. She was sleeping on the streets and had been drunk.
A previous 60 days suspended sentence was activated and 60 days custody imposed consecutively for the new offences, compensation of £50 awarded to the officer, and a £115 surcharge.
