A van was torched by arsonists in the latest attack to hit Wrexham.
The vehicle exploded during the early hours of Sunday morning at Heol Mabon in Penycae waking residents.
One who asked not to be named, told the Daily Post: “We heard an almighty bang and could clearly see the flames which had engulfed the van.
“Its definitely not the type of thing you expect to happen on your street, it woke everyone up.
“After the fire service was called, neighbours started moving their cars away from the area in case the flames spread.
“Thankfully the firefighters arrived within five minutes and were able to see to the van, but it was very frightening.

“I hope whoever’s responsible is caught as its a very dangerous and stupid thing to do.”
Firefighters were called just before 3am to put out the flames.
A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “One applicance from Johnstown, Wrexham, attended using one hosereel and breathing apparatus.”
The van sustained 40% fire damage, and is believed to have been torched deliberately, the spokeswoman added.
This latest arson attack is one of many to plague the county.
Another Penycae resident, who asked not to be named, said: “Wrexham county is the firestarter central for North Wales.”

Figures show that residents of Wrexham are almost three times more likely to be the victims of a deliberate fire than anywhere else in North Wales and levels of arson in the county are among the highest in England and Wales.
Paul Scott, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service’s community safety manager for Flintshire and Wrexham, has said that each blaze can be “unpredictable” and has the potential to cause huge explosions in highly populated areas.
“Our firefighters are also being put at risk every time they attend one of these fires and of course the arsonists themselves.”
Detective Inspector Lee Boycott, of Wrexham CID, told the Daily Post late last year that arson was a problem that has been going on for years around the Caia Park and Hightown area.
