A lay-by on the A5 near Bryngwran has been turned into a rubbish tip by some inconsiderate lorry drivers heading through the island, according to residents

Angry residents have hit out at inconsiderate truckers who they claim are making the their lives a “misery”.
Bill and Sue Walker say they are fed-up of finding “disgusting” piles of litter, bottles of urine and even bags of faeces dumped near their home.
And the couple claim the source of the rubbish is some rude lorry drivers who regularly chuck waste from their cabs into a lay-by and field near their home near Bryngwran onAnglesey.
Retired joiner Mr Walker and his wife also say they are often kept awake at night by some HGV drivers who leave their engines running while parked-up close to their house at the Treban crossroads on the A5.
Anglesey Council has now launched an investigation into the matter.

But Mr Walker said he’s “sick” of the lack of action from the authority after making complaints about the situation “on numerous occasions”.
He added: “It’s been going on for years now, but I’ve noticed the problem getting gradually worse.
“I find it (the rubbish) totally disgusting, I’m sure these drivers wouldn’t appreciate someone doing that on their own doorstep.”
“I read about a petition being launched to try and tackle the problem in Holyhead, but the problem is just as bad here.
“In fairness, some of the drivers have been reasonable when I’ve gone out in the middle of the night and asked them to turn off their engines.
“Some just don’t realise how much noise they’re making.
“But others have been very nasty. I’m 69 years old, I can’t afford to have a confrontation.

Investigation

“What I can’t understand is why they don’t use the dedicated truck stop in Holyhead, that’s what its there for.”
Farmer Richard Williams owns the field next to the lay-by near Bryngwran.
He said he was worried about allowing animals on the land nearest to spot due to concerns over what was being thrown into the field.
“There must be a way of stopping them parking here, there’s not even a sign there at the moment,” he added.
An Anglesey Council spokesman said: “In response to the issues raised by the owners of Tai-Lon, Bryngwran, the authority will investigate the most appropriate parking restriction for the nearby lay-by in an attempt to alleviate current problems.”
