A MAN broke into his mother's house and threw parties while she was on holiday, before breaking into his brother's house and crashing his car, a court has heard.
Jack Morris vandalised and "soiled" his mum's Swansea Valley house during the fortnight she was away, breaking furniture and personal items and stealing almost £600 in coins she had been collecting in jars.

He then went to his brother's house and broke in through an insecure window while his sibling and his family slept upstairs, making off in the victim's VW Golf, which he smashed into a Mercedes, Vauxhall and a Nissan.
Morris, aged 23, formerly of Ynysmeudwy Road, Pontardawe, had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary and one of aggravated vehicle taking when he appeared at Swansea Crown Court for sentencing. He had also admitted driving without a licence or insurance.
James Hartson, prosecuting, said Morris gained entry to his mum's home in Ynysmeudwy Road sometime between January 22 and February 9, despite knowing "he was not welcome in the house under any circumstances".
Morris stayed for an unknown length of time, "soiling" the house and holding a number of parties during which people were seen "coming and going at all times of the day and night".
Before his mum returned from holiday, Morris broke into his brother's house on Gwerddgoed Road in Pontardawe. He stole his brother' s car, and wrote it and two other vehicles off in a crash.
However, he had left finger prints at the scene of the second burglary, and a month later police tracked him down to an address in Cimla and arrested him.
Matt Henson, for Morris, said the offences had been committed while the defendant was in the grips of a Valium addiction, which he had now kicked.
He said Morris wanted to apologise to his mum and brother, and the owners of the cars he wrecked.
Judge Paul Thomas QC told the defendant that burgling the homes of family members had been "very spiteful indeed".
He added: "Your mother was understandably devastated at what you had done, and she was left anxious that you would return — that is what you have done Mr Morris."
The judge sentenced Morris to a total of 18 months in prison and disqualified him from driving for 27 months.
