(The Army really need to take over Wrexham, things are getting really bad !)
A vital emergency vehicle was smashed up by yobs as its paramedic driver was treating a sick patient.
It happened at a caravan site on the A525 between Coedpoeth and Wrexham at about 1.30am today.
The Rapid Response Vehicle (RRV) 4x4 had been called to the address following reports that a woman had become unwell.
The paramedic left the vehicle to see to the patient and, when he returned, found the light bar had been ripped off, the rear window smashed and windscreen wipers pulled off.
Despite this, and fears for his own safety, the paramedic continued to transport the patient to Wrexham Maelor in the RRV for further treatment.
Unison representative Dave Thomson, who works himself as a paramedic in Flintshire, says the vandalism is “disgusting”.

He explained the vehicle, which is one of five of its kind in the region, will now be off the road for some time for repair work.
Dave said: “It will really hamper us to provide a service.
“We need every vehicle we have got and this will affect Dobshill ambulance station and its ability to put out vehicles to emergencies.
“I am totally disgusted that someone would do this to a life-saving vehicle that could have needed to attend a heart attack patient after.
“It will also make paramedics hesitant to respond to calls on that site without police back-up through fear it could happen again.”
North Wales Police said the incident was reported to them at 1.45am, and are urging anyone with information to call them on 101, using the reference number S170306.
