Murder detectives have named the man who died following an incident in Swansea city centre at the weekend.
Officers were called to Princess Way at about 03:00 GMT Sunday and Jonathon Robert Thomas, 34, was taken to Morriston Hospital where he later died.
Police are treating the rugby player's death as suspicious, but said no weapons were used in the incident.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and anyone with information is asked to call 101.
Mr Thomas played for Swansea RFC - where his brother Nicky plays - along with Mumbles, Aberavon and Caerphilly.
A club statement said: "The sympathies of everyone at Swansea Rugby Club go out to our own Nicky Thomas, his parents Rob, Julie and all the family at this difficult time."
Aberavon RFC tweeted: "Thoughts and prayers are with Wizards former centre Jonny Thomas's family and friends #RIP."
