Police in Neath have issued an appeal for information after a 13-year-old girl was assaulted while walking in Bryncoch.
The girl was walking through a wooded area near Princess Drive at 4.30pm yesterday when she was approached by the suspect and pushed to the ground.
The suspect is described as being male, aged 15-16, and between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 8ins in height. He has short dark hair and is of chubby build. He was wearing shorts and blue and white striped rugby/football socks.
"She was then approached by the suspect and pushed to the ground. The motive for this assault is not known and the investigation is continuing."
Officers investigating the assault are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the suspect in the area at around 4.30pm to come forward. They also want to hear from anyone with information relating to the clothing worn by the suspect which may be the kit of a local school or sports team.
