A 25-year-old man was attacked with a large knife in a “nasty assault” outside a popular Cardiff Bay restaurant, police have confirmed.
The incident happened at around 7pm on Friday outside Miller and Carter restaurant in the car park of the Red Dragon Centre.
The victim, believed to be from Cardiff , was left with a cut to his left wrist after being struck with the large knife.
Taken to hospital
He was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of Wales with injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.
A 32-year-old local man was arrested at the scene.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: “There was a nasty assault in the car park of the Red Dragon Centre and a person was arrested.
“One male was assaulted and received a cut to his left wrist after being struck with a large knife.
“We had sufficient resources at the scene and the ambulance service conveyed the victim to the University Hospital of Wales with non-life threatening injuries.
“A 32-year-old male was arrested at around 7.39pm and we are satisfied that we have everything in hand.”
