A convicted criminal ended up back in court after finding and pocketing hundreds of pounds a woman accidentally left in a bank.
Drug dealer Nathan Jeavons , 23, was standing behind his victim in the queue at the HSBC bank in Colwyn Bay.
After the woman had been served she accidentally left an envelope containing the cash on the counter and walked away.
CCTV caught Jeavons of Erw Wen Road, Colwyn Bay spotting the cash and taking it.
Today at Llandudno Magistrates ’ Court he pleaded guilty to stealing the money by finding and was ordered to pay the woman compensation of £250 and costs of £85.
On the day of the crime Jeavons was on home release as he neared the end of a three-year sentence for drug offences.
He had been sentenced in January last year for possessing drugs with intent to supply.
His latest conviction has now landed him in Walton jail, Liverpool, where the court heard he has been locked in his cell for most of the time.
Sheyanne Lee, prosecuting, said the woman who recently had a hip operation had drawn the money so that relatives could do her shopping.
Graham Parry, defending, said: “He’s going to spend much longer in prison.”
