Cardiff,South Wales - Pensioner's life savings stolen as three masked men break into his Cardiff home and hold him down

Thousands of pounds were taken during the late-night burglary at the elderly man's house

An elderly man was held to the ground and had his life savings stolen during an aggravated burglary in Cardiff .
Three men forced their way into an address in Countisbury Avenue, Llanrumney , at around 9.40pm on Tuesday.
South Wales Police said the men had their faces covered and they held down the pensioner on the floor as they demanded money.
They escaped with a grey fleece jacket which was holding brown and grey wallets containing thousands of pounds – the man’s life savings.
Officers have launched an investigation and are appealing for anybody with information to come forward.

Little is known about the suspects apart from the fact that they spoke with what have been described as ‘local accents’ and may have been in their teens.
Acting Detective Sergeant Richie Edmunds said: "Incidents like this one are extremely rare but we do believe that those responsible are likely to be local to the area.
"Somebody will have information about this and I would urge them to contact us, using the anonymous Crimestoppers number if they prefer."
Labour ward councillor Keith Jones said the local community was "deeply shocked" by the crime.
He added: "Llanrumney is a close-knit community and everyone is deeply shocked and deeply upset by what has happened.
"We would urge anyone with information to come forward and help the police with their investigations.
"The description is that it may have been people in their teens so we would ask that any mother, father, or family member with information about this abhorrent crime would help police track down the perpretrators."
