AN APPEAL has been launched after a woman was grabbed from behind by a man as she walked in the street.
The young woman was walking along Stryt Las in Johnstown on Tuesday at 10.30pm when she was grabbed by the man.
She screamed and managed to break free before the man ran off along Stryt Las in the direction of Penycae.
The victim was not physically hurt, but was left badly shaken and distressed by the assault.
The suspect is described as about 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build and was wearing a black hoodie, black jogging bottoms and trainers.
Detective Sergeant Roz Hewitt said: “This was clearly a distressing incident for the young woman and I am appealing for anyone who may have seen a man behaving suspiciously in the area around the time, or who may have heard the victim scream out, to contact police on 101 quoting reference V001435.
“We have deployed extra patrols in the area to reassure local residents.”
