Police have recovered more than £100,000 worth of stolen cars as part of an investigation into an organised crime group.
Over the last six months, detectives from Fairwater CID in Cardiff have been investigating what they described as an organised crime group operating in the city.
A pre-planned operation was carried out by officers in the Mynachdy area on Tuesday, January 3.
Detective Inspector Dean Taylor of Fairwater CID said: “Today’s action represents the climax of a six month investigation which has resulted in over £100,000 worth of vehicles being recovered.
“These vehicles were stolen during dwelling burglaries which took place across the South Wales and Gwent Police force areas.
“The joint operation was led by officers from the Eastern Divisional Organised Crime unit and involved support from officers from the Regional Organised Crime Unit.”
Daniel Gordon, 28, and Dean Cronin, 41, both from Cardiff, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and to receive stolen goods.
Appearing before magistrates, Gordon wore a red and blue striped top, while Cronin, of Llantarnam Road, wore a dark jumper.
They were both remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to February 1 when they will appear at Cardiff Crown Court.
