Martyn Tucker - who was jailed for 12 years in 2014 - made youngster chose whether it was him or his brother who would be abused

A former Scout master jailed for abusing young boys has been given another 11 year sentence after more victims came forward.
Martyn Tucker, who had run a Scout troup in Flintshire in the past, was jailed for 12 years in 2014 for abusing youngsters he was supposed to be helping.
But more victims - who saw Tucker’s face in the media when he was sentenced - found the courage to come forward.
He admitted 28 further sexual offences - two said to be particularly serious - committed in what a judge today called “a campaign of abuse of the vilest kind”.
On one occasion, he told a young boy that it was either “him or his brother” who would be abused, and asked after the painful ordeal whether he had enjoyed it.
One man told how he bought a newspaper, saw that Tucker had been jailed, and broke down and cried as what happened to him came flooding back.
Tucker, who before being jailed in 2014 lived in Sealand Road in Chester, worked for the former Alyn and Deeside and Delyn Councils before working as a legal executive dealing in social welfare issues for various Chester solicitors.
He was a scouting leader for many years, but had not committed offences for 30 years when he came to be arrested in 2013.
In 2014 at Mold Crown Court Tucker, now 70, admitted 24 offences against five other victims and was jailed for 12 years.
The court heard that he had known his crimes would catch up with him, particularly after the Jimmy Savile scandal broke.
Co-defendant Malcolm Gould, 69, a former deputy head-master who had been living in retirement in Bulgaria but returned to the UK when an European arrest warrant was issued, admitted indecent assault on one of Tucker’s victims and was jailed for three years.
Judge Rhys Rowlands, sitting today at Mold Crwn Court, told him he was an offender of particular concern and that his licence on release would be extended by a year.
It was up to the parole board to decide when he was safe to be released, the judge said.
Tucker must register with the police as a sex offender for life.

'Waiting for justice to catch up with him'

Martyn Tucker, a former scout leader who as a young man abused scouts and other children, had been waiting to be arrested for years.
Tucker, a native of Cardiff, was very active in the scouting movement and had a position of responsibility.
Stephen Edwards, defending, said that it was regrettable in the extreme that he was in a position of trust when he extensively and persistently abused children over a period of time, he said.
The second prosecution extended the period of abuse from 1968 to 1985.
Mr Edwards said that the extensive and inevitable publicity about his first prosecution mean that an additional seven complainants had come forward.
When first arrested he had told how he wanted to come clean and told police he had “done stuff in the past that I regret.”
Interviewed, Tucker, who had led a blameless life for 30 years before his arrest, said that it had always been in his mind, “particularly when the Jimmy Saville stuff came out.”
Of his arrest, he said “I have been waiting for this. I was hoping it would never happen. I knew one day that it would. I deeply regret what I have done.”
Tucker said that it had ruined his life and it had ruined the lives of others for which he was deeply ashamed.
Mr Edwards said: “He has admitted extensive abuse over a period of years. He accepts his behaviour was appalling and caused extensive damage to his victims.”
He was now 70, his earliest release date from the original 12 year sentence would be May 2020 and he appreciated that would be extended.
Judge Rhys Rowlands said that Tucker was an adult man who had taken advantage of young boys.
“This has nothing to do with your sexuality,” he said.
Tucker was a grown man who identified and took advantage of children.
There had been a significant delay in the case and he had to be dealt with for his behaviour a long time ago.
But the other side of the coin was that he had got away with it for a very long time
