Two police officers and a steward were allegedly assaulted following a number of flashpoints during the match between Cardiff City and Bristol City on Friday.
Six arrests were made in total during and after the match at Cardiff City Stadium.
South Wales Police said: "We can confirm that six arrests were made at the Cardiff City versus Bristol City match at Cardiff City Stadium on Friday, 14 October, following a number of flashpoints during and after the match."
Two 26-year-old men from Bristol have been charged with assaulting police officers and a 25-year-old man from Lydney has been charged with assaulting a steward.
South Wales Police said: "A 32-year-old man from Wellington was also arrested for possessing class A drugs and a 22-year old man from Bristol was arrested for anti-social behaviour after being caught in the possession of a flare.
They added: "A 38-year-old man from Taunton has been charged with a public order offence."
The Welsh Ambulance Service said: "We were called at about 9.35pm on Friday 14th October to Cardiff City Stadium. An emergency ambulance attended the scene and an adult male was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in a stable condition."
Cardiff won the match 2-1 as new manager Neil Warnock celebrated his first match in charge with three points.
