Anglesey North Wales - Man admits possessing expanding 'dum dum' bullets

Caernarfon Crown Court
Ian Paul McGuigan appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court

An Anglesey man has admitted serious charges of conspiracy to supply illegal drugs and money laundering.
Ian Paul McGuigan, 39, of Ty Croes near Rhosneigr also admitted a charge of possessing seven hollow point bullets but denied a charge of possessing a disguised firearm when he appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court.
The court heard the ammunition were of a type that expanded when they hit a target.
The firearm was said to be a stun-style device disguised as a mobile phone.
Prosecutor Emmaline Downing asked the judge to allow seven days to consider whether or not a jury should consider the charge in a trial.
Brian Townsend, 36, of Park View Road, Liverpool and Anthony Donovan, 33, of Mullion Road, Croxteth, Liverpool, both admitted conspiracy to supply illegal drugs and possessing criminal property.
Townsend also pleaded guilty to possessing cocaine after he was arrested at Ty Croes on September 5.
But McGuigan had asked for the charges not to be put to him as he needed to take further legal advice.
Judge Rhys Rowlands ordered a further hearing be held in November.
There were no applications for bail and all three were remanded in custody.
