A man rubbed chillies and sprayed an aerosol in the face of his partner as well as trying to force food down her throat in a prolonged two-hour attack
David Owen Healion also threatened to drill a hole in the eye of his victim, threw her across the room and attempted throw her down stairs.
Prosecuting at Swansea Magistrates' Court, Lisa Jones said an ambulance had been called to Healion's home in Fern Street in Cwmbwrla, Swansea by his victim around 2am, where they found her in the street with blood on her face.
She told paramedics: 'Do not go in there. He'll go mad, and he is violent'.
Ms Jones added: "They had caught a taxi home from town, and the defendant was annoyed at her because she did not want to stay in town.
"He told her 'I don't know why I got with you because you are fat'. At home he was shouting, and picked up some food and rammed it forcefully in her face and threw her over the sofa.
"He threw her across the room, and began rubbing chillies over her face and eyes".
The court also heard his victim at some point turned on her mobile phone to record the confrontation.
The couple later went upstairs, where Healion yelled at her: "Why are you all the same? Why do I always meet psychos?"
Healion, 38, then threw his victim into a mirror, and told her: "If you do not shut up I will drill a hole in your eye."
The court was also told he had an air freshener which he sprayed in her face and eyes, and she was left with a cut to her hair line, swelling to skin around her eyes and to an ear, and abrasions to the head.
She eventually escaped from the house and called the emergency services, and was discovered by ambulance staff in the street.
Healion pleaded guilty to a charge of assault.
Jailing Healion for six months, chairman of magistrates John Hughes told him: "We feel this case is so serious only a custodial sentence is appropriate.
"We do not find remorse and for this to carry on for two hours really causes us great concern".
He was also told to pay a victim surcharge of £115, and compensation of £200 to his victim, and made subject to a restraining order.
