It comes just 24 hours after a mother and baby had to flee their home after their flat was hit by a firework
Police are increasing patrols in one area of Cardiff following a second night of unrest involving fireworks.
On Wednesday night a mother and baby had a lucky escape when a firework attack set fire to their flat's balcony.
Witnesses say teenagers were in the area setting off fireworks when some hit a block of flats in Cardiff Bay.
The fire – which caused a glass door to shatter and damaged internal curtains – was extinguished by fire officers.
Nobody was injured but the occupiers of the flat – a mother and baby – have had to leave while repair work is carried out.
Police confirmed that disorder occurred on Thursday night, but that nobody was injured.
Fire crews were called to the flats in Heol Staughton, near Dumballs Road, Cardiff , on Wednesday evening.
Police said the attack is being treated as arson and investigations were ongoing in the area.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said there had been "blatant" disorder for a second night and patrols will increase on Friday night.
Officers are also speaking to retailers in the area and are continuing to investigate Wednesday night's arson attack.
Inspector Ian Randell, of South Wales Police, said: “What happened was irresponsible, stupid and constitutes a serious criminal offence – the incident could so easily have had far worse consequences."
One witness said that young people in the area are throwing them at each other and launching them into people's gardens and towards a local mosque in the area.
They said that police had been called several times.
