Fire crews were 'attacked with stones' as they tried to put out a blaze at a caravan park

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said a fire engine windscreen was damaged in the incident

Fire crews were attacked when they tried to extinguish a fire at a caravan park last night.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to Cae Garw Caravan Site in Margam, Port Talbot , just before 1am.

Crews were attacked with stones thrown at them when they tried to extinguish a fire in Cae Garw Caravan Site Margam at 00.56 .....

The rescuers were attacked by people at the site and were forced to leave.

Attackers damaged the fire engine in the process.

Update Margam: Crews were forced to withdraw for their safety from the site and the fire engine windscreen was smashed
