Police and Immigration officers executed a warrant under the Modern Slavery Act, but no- one was arrested
Police officers and immigration officials executed a warrant at Menai Meats Wales under the Modern Slavery Act.
A “huge” police presence was reported on the Cibyn industrial estate at roughly 8pm on Friday as officers swooped to investigate the business.
Adivsors from Welsh charity BAWSO were also present.
BAWSO support people from Black and Ethnic Minority (BME) backgrounds who are affected by domestic abuse and other forms of abuse, including human trafficking.
A number of men were interviewed but none were arrested.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “At 7.50pm on Friday a warranted as executed at Menai Meats Wales under the Modern Slavery Act following intelligence which was received.
“Immigration officers and advisors from BAWSO were also present.
“No one was arrested.”
The Home Office has been asked to comment.
Last year a 36-year-old man from Pakistan was found working at Menai Meats Wales illegally.
Menai Meats reopened the former Sher Halal Foods and United Halal Foods abattoir in September 201.
