Jason Lee Roberts, 27, of Bro Rhythallt, Llanrug, was jailed over the fracas in a Caernarfon beer garden

Police had to taser a man twice to bring him under control after he threatened to “take them all on” following a fracas in a pub beer garden.
Officers called to the Albert in Caernarfon on January 23 found Jason Lee Roberts, of Bro Rhythallt, Llanrug, shouting, swearing and acting aggressively.
The 27-year-old had taken his shirt off and was covered in blood from a cut to the head, Caernarfon Crown Court heard.
He had earlier been in an argument with a group of men, and refused to co-operate with police.
Ffion Tomos, prosecuting, said: “Despite numerous requests by the officers to calm down, he refused and was ultimately tasered.
“The first cycle had no effect on the defendant and he was tasered a second time.”
Ms Tomos said Roberts had been involved in an argument with a group of men who were celebrating a birthday.
“He had asked one of the men in the group for a lighter and was given it, but then he warned them not to come too close as he was not gay,” she said.
“The men ignored him, but Roberts was under the impression they were talking about him, and started to threaten them. He was described as looking for a fight.
“He was told to go away by one of the men and he went up to him and headbutted him.
“The man, who was holding a glass in his hand, swung his arm and struck Roberts on the side of the head, causing a cut.
“Both men fell to the floor and were separated by the others but, despite being injured, Roberts continued behaving aggressively.”
The defendant admitted a charge of affray and was jailed for 10 months.
Ms Tomos said Roberts had previous convictions for violent behaviour, including headbutting a football referee when he was sent off during a game and, on another occasion, headbutting a police officer.
Arrested, Roberts told police he had been drinking and taking illegal drugs in Caernarfon that night and could not recall the incident.
Mathew Curtis, defending, asked the judge to give credit for the guilty plea and accept his remorse was genuine.
Accepting the matter crossed the custody threshold, he asked the judge to consider suspending the sentence.
But Judge Rhys Rowlands said the matter was so serious that only an immediate jail sentence was appropriate.
Jailing him, the judge said: “Worryingly, this is not the first time you have used your head as a weapon. It is something you are prone to do.”
