A fox was shot and killed by trespassers believed to be lamping near Mold .
North Wales Police's rural crime team are investigating the shocking crime and have appealed for the public to help trace the offenders.
Officers suspect the animal was a victim of lamping, where a bright light is used to shine at the animal and then shot.

Rob Taylor, team manager said: "Our dedicated team of officers investigates all wildlife offences and the use of a firearm in the countryside by a trespasser concerns me.
"A team member has attended the location near Mold and the animal has been examined.
"At this point we have no leads so we ask for the public's help in tracing the offender or offenders.
"Hopefully we should be able to identify the type of firearm used."
