Three men have been arrested following the incident in Cowbridge Road East, Canton
A house “full of cannabis plants” has been discovered on one of Cardiff’s most bustling high streets.
The flat, on Cowbridge Road East in Canton , is believed to be above the Nishi Rath Takeaway.
Three men in their 20s have been arrested.
It was seen being searched by South Wales Police officers at around 10am on Sunday.
Police were still guarding the door of the flat later in the afternoon, and emergency services were still at the scene at 2.15pm.
On Sunday afternoon, a South Wales Police spokesman said: “Police are investigating a premises that contains a number of cannabis plants. It looks like we have got a house full of the plants.
“Officers are investigating and now making the premises safe.”
Later the force confirmed: "The three men, aged 26, 26 and 24, are currently in police custody assisting police with their enquiries. This is in relation to alleged cannabis cultivation offences."
