Robbers are believed to have struck at a convenience store in Denbigh this evening.
At roughly 8.30pm two men wearing black hoodies entered McColl's shop on Rhyl Road and demanded cash.
The police helicopter was seen searching overhead the area in the hours following the raid with police officers also speaking to nearby businesses.
One shop owner, who did not wish to be named, told the Daily Post officers had asked him if he had seen anything suspicious in the area.
Businesses as far away as Trefnant were quizzed by members of the force about activity in the evening.
It is not known if the robbers made off with any cash.
The ambulance service were not called.
Shortly after the incident three police cars were at the scene.
North Wales Police did not provide details on the activity when approached by the Daily Post.
It is not the first time McColl's has been hit by raiders with the store previously targeted in 2013.
The newsagents is also an off-licence.
