Lorraine Ridout left her house to visit a friend one evening in January and has not been seen since
Two addresses in Cardiff are being searched by police investigating the disappearance of a Cardiff grandmother.
Specialist search teams, including forensic experts, have begun work at two properties, one in Aberporth Road, Gabalfa, and the other in Heol Trelai, Ely.
Police stressed that her disappearance is still unexplained and they were still "looking for clues which may help to explain what has happened to her".
They also stressed no arrests have been made.
Lorraine Ridout, 57, left her house in Gabalfa to visit a friend at 7pm on January 31 and has not been seen since.
Police have said that there is no evidence she has moved abroad or is living anywhere else in the UK.
Before she went missing mum-of-three Lorraine lived with her husband Steven, also 57.
Despite land searches and police divers scouring the river, no clues about what happened have turned up.
In June, drains in streets near her home on Aberporth Road were searched.
It is understood that the police could be carrying out searches throughout today and tomorrow.
Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Mark O’Shea, said: “We have searched for many months for Lorraine and have followed up hundreds of lines of enquiry.
"At this stage her disappearance is still unexplained but I do have grave concerns for her. We are looking for clues which may help to explain what has happened to her.
“Lorraine is a much loved mother and grandmother and we are keen to establish what happened to her on January 31 for the sake of Lorraine’s family and her many friends who have been, and continue to go through, a traumatic time. They need answers.
“I want to stress at this point, that Lorraine’s family are working with South Wales Police and have been very co-operative throughout – they understand that we must leave no stone unturned in our efforts to find out what happened to her.
"No arrests have been made and work here will be completed diligently and expeditiously with minimal disruption to Lorraine’s family and wider community. I would like to thank the Ridout family and the Gabalfa community for their continuing support.
"I still believe the answers to Lorraine’s disappearance are somewhere within North Cardiff and would urge anyone who has any information to make contact with me. ”
But Lorraine's daughter Christine said they were not happy.
She said: "This has caused total distress to the family at this time."
Anybody who has information about Lorraine Ridout’s disappearance is urged to contact South Wales Police via 101 quoting reference *036372 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
