Police were called to the Pill area of Newport after reports of a disturbance
Eight people have been arrested and charged after riot police and helicopters were sent to a disturbance in the centre of Newport.
The incident happened on Friday on Commercial Street in the Pill area of Newport .
Gwent Police have confirmed that a total of eight people from Newport have now been charged.
Seven men, aged between 13 and 24, and a 17-year-old female have been charged with various charges, including violent disorder and breaching a dispersal order.
A 24-year-old man, two 13-year-old males, another two males aged 16 and 17 have been charged with violent disorder.
A 20-year-old male and a 17-year-old female have been charged with breaching a dispersal order and arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.
A 16-year-old boy has been charged with breach of a dispersal order and violent disorder and appeared in court on Thursday for breach of bail conditions.
