More than 1,000 bales in the fire
A statement from North Wales Fire & Rescue said:
“North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 12.45pm today (Wednesday 26th October).“1,200 hay bales are involved in the incident and crews are currently using four covering jets to protect a further 300 bales.”

Road closure
The road has been closed from Marford Hill to Borras Hall Lane. It doesn’t seem to be causing major traffic delays.

Reporter Steve Bagnall says that Hoseley Lane is closed about a mile away from the fire.

The ambulance service tell me that they have not been called to the scene so it appears nobody has been hurt.

Up to 400 bales of hay on fire
The fire service tells me there are 300-400 bales of hay on fire.
A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We are currently in attendance at a fire on Hoseley Lane in Marford, Wrexham. We have two appliances on the scene - from Wrexham and Mold - and an environmental protection unit from Wrexham. We also have a fire officer on the scene. We believe there are 300-400 bales of hay on fire. We were called at 12.45pm.”

The fire service tell me that as well as crews from Wrexham and Mold they also have an environmental protection unit on the scene and a fire officer.

Firefighters are tackling a huge blaze in Wrexham.
Up to 400 bales of hay are on fire on Hoseley Lane in Marford.
Two crews were called to the scene at 12.45pm and remain on the scene.
