Erin Pritchard, 9, recently won the Welsh Heat Junior Section of the Face of the Globe competition - one year after her younger sister Efa, 7, won in the mini category
Two sisters will jet off to Paris next year to take part in an international beauty pageant.
Erin Pritchard, 9, recently won the Welsh Heat Junior Section of the Face of the Globe competition - one year after her younger sister Efa, 7, won in the mini category.
The sisters from Caernarfon are now preparing to visit Disneyland Paris in March next year to represent Wales in the annual pageant.
Their mother, Gemma Pritchard, who teaches martial arts, said she couldn’t be prouder of her daughters.
Gemma said: “They put so much work in to all of it, because they both really enjoy it.
“It involves a lot of community work such as fundraising, visiting those who are less fortunate and community work.
“During their time doing this they’ve raised more than £8,500 in total for the Rainbow Child Foundation which is supported by the pageant.”
When Erin failed to place in last year’s competition she was determined to get further this year and join her younger sister on her travels.
Gemma added: “They’re so supportive of each other, it’s quite warming to see.
“There’s less than two years between them so they’re very close anyway but this brings us all closer together because we get to spend our time doing girly things.
“Efa was so happy for Erin this year because she saw how disappointed she was last year.
“She burst in to tears when heard that her sister had won, she said she was so excited that they could go to the next stage in Disneyland together.”
Gemma praised the competition and said she has seen “so much progress” with her children in terms of social skills and confidence.
Contestants are required to walk in cat walks, take part in a question and answer session about themselves and speak for two minutes in front of an audience.
Gemma said she hopes these tasks will help them later on in life when they are at college.
She added: “It’s a once in a lifetime chance for them - it’s not often sisters win in separate categories of the competition.
“It’s so lovely that they can do this together and that I’m there to witness it all, we’ve all enjoyed it so much.”
