A man has been arrested after a car ploughed into and demolished a bus shelter nearLlantrisant .
South Wales Police posted this picture on social media after the wooden shelter, in Groesfaen, Pontyclun, Rhondda Cynon Taff , was destroyed in the Sunday morning collision.
The force tweeted to say the man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
'Whole bus stop smashed up'
One motorist who passed the scene shortly after the crash said anyone who had been in the shelter at the time would have been badly hurt.
Terry Phillips, from Pontcanna in Cardiff , said: “The whole bus stop was smashed up and the car was there on the other side of the road. It was a good job nobody was in the bus stop.”
The bus stop is for the Babell Presbyterian Chapel on the A4119 Llantrisant Road, on the Cardiff-bound carriageway, serving the 122 and 124 Traveline Cymru services.
