Grant Steven Marks pleaded guilty to outraging public decency while driving along Newton Road in Mumbles
A MOTORIST has been told to keep his clothes on when at the wheel after admitting performing a sex act on himself while driving naked along a busy street during the rush-hour.
Grant Steven Marks was seen by shop workers in Mumbles without clothes — and with just a green cloth covering his groin — while fondling himself.
Swansea Magistrates Court heard that the traffic on Newton Road was travelling slowly at the time, and staff were able to make a note of Marks' car registration and call police — the 46-year-old was stopped by officers on Mumbles Road a short time later.
Marks pleaded guilty to a single count of outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner on March 25 when he appeared before justices.

Linda Baker, prosecuting, said that at around 4.50pm on the day in question staff working in a shop on Newton Road saw Marks driving in a line of traffic shirtless and apparently without trousers on — when the defendant saw the staff he began to perform a sex act on himself and "attempted to cover himself with a green cloth".

The court heard Marks, of George Street, Cwmcarn, has a previous caution for a similar offence of outraging public decent from last year.
Magistrates ordered a probation report on Marks and sentencing in the case was adjourned until May 5 — the defendant was bailed until that date on condition that he does not remove his clothing in a public place, or while he is driving or is stationary in a car in a public place.
Roger Smith, chairman of the bench, told the defendant: "You've heard the conditions of your bail — you must not be undressed in a public place or while driving."
