Bethesda,North Wales - Dog kills terrified lambs on Bethesda farm after attacking flock

Moving video shows moment farmer finds lambs slaughtered by husky that has since been put down

The footage was captured after a husky killed seven of farmer, Stephen Jones’ flock.
The harrowing images were posted on Facebook in a bid to warn people to keep their pets away from livestock, and have since been shared hundreds of times.
The sickening frenzy happened in the early hours of Saturday morning on farmland in Gerlan, Bethesda.
North Wales Police are investigating and the dog has since been destroyed.
Stephen’s daughter, Lliwen tried to nurse the surviving lamb through the night after it suffered three puncture wounds and was found standing by its mother, but it sadly died hours later.
Now the family have released the pictures and video to show the extent of the “epidemic” that is threatening their livelihood.
Lliwen said: “A male husky ran at the sheep - all of which are heavily pregnant.
“Seven lambs were savaged in total, six were dead in the fields and one which I nursed died early the next morning.
“We won’t know how many have been affected by this as there where 154 ewes in total.

“There will be obvious complications now with them delivering early, suffering a lack of calcium, also some are most probably dead already in the womb.”
She added: “The matter is in the hands of the police, they impounded the dog and it has now been destroyed.
“I actually took the lambs down for the officers to see the damaged caused.”
Lliwen said each lamb is valued at around £80, but the farm will also have to pay to have their bodies disposed of.
Farmer and family friend, Gareth Wyn Jones from Llanfairfechan said it is becoming a worrying trend.

“People need to keep their dogs on leads, especially at this time of year when lambing season, it’s affecting our livelihood,” he said.
“I would also urge people not to leave their dogs outside overnight.
“It’s the owner’s fault, not the dog’s, they are only doing what comes naturally to them.
“But people with huskies in particular need to understand what to do with them.
“This is happening every single day, it’s becoming an epidemic and it needs to stop.”
