Whelan, 29, of Willow Park, Gladstone Way in Mancot, appeared via a live television link from Altcourse Prison in Liverpool today at Mold Crown Court.
Judge Rhys Rowlands fixed their trial, which is expected to take four to five days, to start on May 22.

Today’s plea and trial preparation hearing was adjourned without formal pleas being taken from the defendants.
They will return to court in just over a week’s time for that to be done.
The court was told that video footage from the shop was available but it had not been possible to play it on any of the equipment in court.
