Jamie Mark Benedikti, 30, of Llithfaen near Pwllheli, turned up with a wrench outside the house of Alison Ramsden
The son of a woman who embarrassed a former friend by advertising Lady Godiva-style naked horse riding in her name has been ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.
Jamie Mark Benedikti, 30, of Llithfaen near Pwllheli, admitted two charges of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and a public order offence when he appeared before magistrates at Caernarfon today.
The charges followed an incident outside a woman’s home in Llithfaen on October 18 last year.
Sentencing, bench chairman Ffion Jones told him: “This was a very serious offence and you caused fear for a lot of people.”
Prosecutor Mel Hughes said the defendant’s mother, Erika Benedikti, and the victim Alison Ramsden had shared a love of horses, but their friendship soured over payment for a dog during 2015.
“At about 9pm on October 18, Ms Ramsden and her partner were at their home and became aware of a commotion outside the property,” said Mr Hughes.
“They looked outside and saw the defendant holding what they initially believed to be a knife but later found out was an extendable wrench.
“He was shouting at the house, and witnesses said he was saying: ‘If you don’t leave my mum alone, I’ll smash your face in.’
“Ms Ramsden was afraid for her safety and shut and locked the front door.
“Her partner went upstairs and, through an open window, told the defendant to stop shouting.”
The court heard Benedikti challenged him to come outside and “sort it out like a man”.
Bethan Williams, defending, said Benedikti had made a bad decision to go to the house that evening.
“During the incident, it suddenly dawned on him that this was not a good idea and he left,” she said.
Ms Williams said he had not entered the property and had been drawn into the argument.
“He snapped and made a very foolish decision,” she added.
In addition to the unpaid work, Benedikti was ordered to pay £170 costs and was made subject of an indefinite restraining order.
Last month, Erika Benedikti admitted a charge of harassing Ms Ramsden.
She had left a poster purporting to be from Ms Ramsden and offering naked horse riding and other services at a cafe, had left a similar poster at a farm, and had sent abusive messages to her via WhatsApp.
She was ordered to pay £200 compensation and £170 costs. A three-year restraining order was also made, banning contact with Ms Ramsden
