The grim picture was taken near Goetre School on the Gurnos Estate in Merthyr Tydfil and has been widely condemned on social media
This was the disgusting scene after dozens of used nappies and a pram were dumped just yards from a primary school.
The photo, taken near Goetre Primary School on the Gurnos Estate, Merthyr Tydfil, and posted online on Friday afternoon, has been widely condemned on social media and by a local councillor.
Posting the picture to Facebook group Merthyr Council Truths, Lee Heggie wrote: “There is no excuse in the world for this.
“This is sheer filth and the lazy brainless person who is responsible for dumping these used nappies at the subway near Goetre School should go back and dispose of your filth the proper way like other residents do.
“This will now be left for our cleansing team to sort out, why should they have to pick up your filth? Filthy that’s what this is.”
Mike O’Neill, a local councillor for Gurnos, said: “It is extremely sad to see images like this.
“We have amenity services nearby and the council takes very seriously its responsibility to keep our streets clean and free from rubbish.
“This is clearly a deliberate and calculated fly tipping incident and such a blight on our brilliant local primary school. If anyone is having difficulty with recycling or waste collection they should contact the council, not commit mindless acts like this.
“I sympathise with the colleagues who will clean this needless waste.
“If anyone knows the culprit, please come forward.”
