Colwyn Bay, North Wales - Murder detectives make arrest after body found in Old Colwyn

A person has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in Old Colwyn.
North Wales Police were called to an address in the Abergele Road area at 20:30 GMT on Thursday night.
The body of a man was found a short distance away, Superintendent Nigel Harrison said.
Police, who would not say whether the person arrested at the scene was a man or a woman, are appealing for information.

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in Old Colwyn last night.
Police officers were called to a "disturbance" near Wellington Road at roughly 8.30pm.
They found a man lying on the floor and paramedics tried to perform CPR.
The man was rushed to hospital but died.
A woman was arrested on suspicion of murder near to where the body was found.
She remains in custody and will be interviewed by North Wales Police detectives later today.
Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Williams said: "HM Coroner is being informed and a post mortem examination will take place in due course.
"I appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard a male and female engaged in an altercation either with each other, or with anyone else, in the areas mentioned or in the Old Colwyn town centre.
"The time period would have been late afternoon to approximately 9pm.
"Anyone with information is urged to come forward and contact the police."

Abergele Road closed by police

In the aftermath of the incident, police closed Abergele Road for the length of Aldi. Buses weren’t being let down the road and were being turned around by officers.

Aldi in Old Colwyn was closed in the aftermath of the incident as police put tape up in the car park.

A number of witnesses earlier reported seeing police giving CPR to a man on the ground.

Efforts being made to resuscitate a man at Old Colwyn

Police and paramedics were reported to be trying to resuscitate a man at Old Colwyn tonight.
Members of the public reported that there were a number of police cars and an ambulance in attendance in a lane just off the Aldi car park on Abergele Road around 9pm.
