POLICE are appealing for help in tracing a taxi driver who is a potential witness in a sexual assault investigation.
Detectives in Port Talbot say they are keen to speak to the cabbie who picked-up a man and a woman from the Back 2 Mine nightclub in Port Talbot in the early hours of Saturday, July 30 and took them to Cwmavon..
During the journey they stopped at a petrol station for the male passenger to buy cigarettes. After dropping off the woman in Cwmavon, the cabbie then took the male passenger to Pizza Gatti in the village.
The taxi driver collected a fare from Port Talbot's Back 2 Mine club on Station Road
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "The driver is a potential witness and not a suspect in the investigation.
"Anyone with information is asked to call police."
A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently on police bail while the investigation continues.
