This is the scene at a Welsh beauty spot after a large amount of rubbish was dumped.
Fridges, children's toys and piles of furniture were left in a car park in the Wenallt, Rhiwbina , some time on Thursday.
The area is surrounded by forest and is popular with walkers and picnickers.
Rhiwbina councillor Jayne Cowan was alerted to the mess by local tree surgeons, Tree Control, who were walking their dog.
Councillor Cowan said: “I’ve been elected 17 years and I’ve never seen anything that bad to be honest.
“It seems unbelievable. Whoever has dumped it has shown no regard for the surroundings.”
The councillor said the rubbish was dumped some time between 6.30am and 7.30pm on Thursday.
She added: “It must have taken them a lot of time to have come up here and dump it all.
“We have seen this type of thing before but there has definitely been an increase. I’ve never seen anything of this magnitude. It’s getting worse.
“We don’t know why they did it or who it was, whether it was a professional or just household rubbish.
“Either way it’s bitterly disappointing. I’m shocked and appalled.
“I would urge anybody who saw this to report it to the police and hopefully we can bring the culprits to justice.”
Furious local residents took to Twitter to voice their concerns. Oliver Owen said: “This awful situation only serves to highlight the need for adequate waste disposal services in north Cardiff.”
Joel Williams said: “This is happening across Cardiff. This problem is on the rise.”
