Queensferry,North Wales - Man seriously injured after being 'stabbed' in Flintshire robbery

Police have arrested two men in connection with the incident at Costcutter in Queensferry

Police have arrested two men in connection with the incident, which took place at Costcutter in Queensferry at 6.30pm yesterday.
Shocked eye-witnesses reported seeing a man bleeding from the neck immediately after the terrifying robbery on Station Road.
The man, who is believed to work at the shop, was rushed to hospital and his condition is now described as “stable”.
His devastated family are with him at his bedside as he recovers.
Police say they will devote extra resources to patrol the town following the terrifying incident.
However, they have not confirmed how the man was injured or if any weapons were used.
A statement by North Wales Police said: “North Wales Police are investigating an incident of a robbery at a store on Station Road, Queensferry.
“During the incident a male received serious injuries and following medical intervention his condition is described as stable.
“His family are aware and are with him at his bedside.
“North Wales police have arrested a second male in relation to this matter and are not currently looking for further suspects.
“Police have devoted resources to the area of Queensferry to reassure the community.
"Detective Inspector Gary Kelly is appealing for anyone who was near Station Road between 6-7pm who may have witnessed anything suspicious to come forward to assist in giving the victim the justice they deserve following this cowardly attack."
The door of the shop was smashed in the robbery and the area was taped off with forensic investigators also called to the scene.
A witness said: “We saw the aftermath. There was an older-looking guy who looked to be losing a lot of blood.
“He had a white jumper on and was holding his neck.
“There was a heavy police presence and the officers took the injured man back into the shop and closed the shutters.
“There was lots of shouting and arm-waving. There were a few people outside Costcutter after it, and lots of flashing lights and sirens.”
Another man said: “There were about 10 police cars here at first and it was awful.
“I pray that he’s OK but it sounds very serious. It’s absolutely shocking. I really can’t believe it.”
