A family has had their Christmas "ruined" after a burglar unwrapped and stole £900 worth of presents from under their tree, including three Android tablets, three pairs of trainers and a lap top.
The "carnage" was discovered by the children in the family, sometime between 7.30am and 11.30am in Glen View Street, Tonypandy , Rhondda , on December 21.
South Wales Police say the "callous" burglar forced their way into the house and took a number of high value items and alcohol.
Acting Sergeant Adam Johnson said: “The burglar forced the back door and made a search of the house, spending time to unwrap the Christmas presents which were in the house and choosing to take the high value items and alcohol.
“The carnage was discovered by the children in the family who have now had their Christmas spoilt thanks this callous person.”
Among the items stolen were three Android tablets, three pairs of trainers, a lap top and perfumes sets and a large amount of alcohol .
The total value of the theft is estimated to be around £900.
Police say a car may have been used to transport the stolen items.
