A teenager has been released on bail following a Christmas Day bra
Police were called to the Newborough Arms in Bontnewydd near Caernarfon just before 10pm.
A 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm to the officer who was left with serious injuries and had to be taken to hospital.
He has now been discharged but remains off duty while he recovers.
It is also understood a member of staff was attacked and knocked unconscious, but this has not been confirmed.
North Wales Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
A statement from the force said they arrested a 17-year-old local male on suspicion of causing ABH to one of the attending officers.
“The 17-year-old was later released on police bail to allow officers time to complete the investigation.
“The police officer received hospital treatment and has since been discharged. He remains off duty.
