Animal found with legs bound in washed-up boat
onkey was discovered on a wrecked ship on an Anglesey beach.
Members of the coastguard were shocked to find the animal at Dulas on Saturday and alerted North Wales Police who quickly launched an investigation.
The force's rural crime team are looking into the grim discovery and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
PC Dewi Evans said: "The donkey was found in the ship wreck on the beach and the inference is that it's been washed in by the tide but we do not know that for sure. It could have been dumped there.
"How it came to be in the ship is part of our investigation, at this stage we do not know a lot.
"What we can tell is that the animal was neglected when it was alive.
"The hooves were severely overgrown and for some reason, the legs had been tied together with yarn.
"We need anyone who has information to come forward."
Anyone with information is asked to contact North Wales Police's rural crime team and quote reference number U189504.
