North Wales Police say they are treating it as a domestic incident
An Anglesey man has been arrested after allegedly attacking his brother on Christmas Eve.
Jamie Warner of Maes Goronwy Tyn y Gongl has been remanded in custody on a GBH charge, a spokesman for the force said.
The 26 year-old will face a special sitting of Caernarfon Magistrates on Boxing Day (Monday).
North Wales Police were called to the incident at a property in Tyn y Gongl shortly after 3.30am on Saturday December 24.
Warner’s 28 year-old brother was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd , Bangor , with head injuries after the incident.
The said they are treating the alleged attack as a domestic incident.
Detective Sergeant Dafydd Curry said court: “This male will now spend Christmas in the cells awaiting court. Please listen to the North Wales Police warning - domestic abuse will not be tolerated.”
Police issued a warning regarding their stance towards domestic violence in the run-up to Christmas.
North Wales Police’s lead officer on domestic abuse, PC George Howat, said: “It is important to remember that however it occurs, it is rare for the abuse to end, or the risk to reduce, without intervention of specialists who can help victims and their families, and perpetrators who recognise they need support to change.
“We encourage the public and victims to help us by reporting incidents when they occur.”
