Anglesey,North Wales - Construction firm boss jailed for 'sadistic' attacks on children

Robert George Morris imprisoned for three years after Court of Appeal ruled suspended sentence issued at Mold 'too lenient'

A "sadistic" construction firm boss who forced three youngsters to carry out work and subjected them to violent punishments has been caged for three years.
Cruel Robert George Morris, 47, "injured" the children with weapons "including a hammer, bottle and a screwdriver" London's Appeal Court heard.
He forced them to fight and "strangled" one of them "to the point at which the child passed out".
Morris, of Caergeiliog, Anglesey escaped being jailed however after pleading guilty to three charges of cruelty to a person under 16 in August.
He was handed an 18-month suspended sentence at Mold Crown Court.
But that sentence was attacked as much too soft by Attorney General Jeremy Wright QC, who referred the case to London’s Appeal Court to look at again.
And Lady Justice Rafferty ruled that Morris got off far too lightly and locked him up for three years.
The judge heard that the youngsters had been subjected to cruel treatment and “sadistic behaviour” by Morris over a prolonged period.
Eventually they complained about their treatment at his hands and he was arrested.
He was handed the suspended sentence after telling the crown court judge that he had suffered a head injury in a car crash that affected his behaviour.
But Lady Justice Rafferty, sitting with Mr Justice Wyn Williams and Mr Justice Morris, ruled: “This sentence was unduly lenient.”
“The appropriate sentence in this case is one of three years.”
Morris must now hand himself in to his local police station and begin serving his sentence.
