Armed police swooped on the scene of a two-vehicle crash after suspecting a firearm was in one of the vehicles.
Emergency services descended on Downing Road in Whitford following the crash, which happened at around 6.40am on Friday and a man was subsequently arrested.
He was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and an air rifle was recovered from the vehicle.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “Armed officers attended as it was believed there was a firearm in the vehicle.
”A man has been arrested in relation to the RTC and the investigation continues.
”There are no further details available at this time.”
The Welsh Ambulance Service also attended the incident, and said they took one man to Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan following the crash.
A spokesman said: "We were called at shortly after 6.40am to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Whitford.
"We sent a rapid response vehicle and two emergency ambulances to the scene and an adult male was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd."
A white van had left the road and was in a field.
A heavy police presence, including the armed officers, a police helicopter, and the dog unit, was visibile following the incident.
North Wales Police took to Twitter to urge motorists to avoid the area following the crash.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said they also sent two appliances to the scene to help deal with the incident.
A spokesman said they assisted police in accessing the vehicle, but stated that nobody was trapped.
